CHRISTMAS 2025

The highlight of our year was celebrating Smitty's 95th Birthday on our porch with all of the local family.  It was a treat to watch the great-grandchildren frolicking on the skateboard and scooter up and down the sidewalk in back that goes to the gazebo.

It pleased me when the two older ones chose bracelets off my work table and wore them up their arms all day.  They like to go to our 'craft cave' to pick out a rubber stamp and stamp a bee or butterfly on their hand.

Our life is uncomplicated. Just being together and having friends and neighbors drop in to visit and check on us is hard to beat.  Having little "greats" nearby is so fun.

Joy took me over to Andrew and Alex's for a cookie decorating party. What a treat!  Can you imagine having a half dozen under the age of 4 decorating cookies!? A special plus is having Andrew and Emily bake me sour dough bread for my breakfast toast.

We have a friend come in on Saturdays to help me with our gardens and projects around the house and to help Smitty shower and shave.

I considered it the ultimate honor when several years ago Joy's family built and dedicated a kitchen in the children's school in Kenya and named it in my honor.

I'm so proud that Sandy and her Master Gardener friends have designed and planted a Norma K. Smith Tribute Garden in the Townsend Riverwalk and Arboretum.  David even made a bluebird house in the shape of our HideAWay home for it.

We feel so blessed that after 73 years of working, raising our family and helping raise our grandchildren that God has given us these years together in our little house in Touchmark to just enjoy each other.

Our love and best wishes go out to all of you for a healthy and Happy New Year.
